(2 Moons Later. West Kingdom)
Sunpaw, who was being made to call himself Sunjewel, sat in his cave room. He hated me locked up inside the castle area, but there wasn't much within the village either.
The last thing he had been able to do, to maybe get home, was at Royal Pack. He had told ShadowWater the direction of Tigerclan.. And she had said that they were going to let RazorHeart and him escape to the kingdom. While they would try and move their pack closer to Tigerclan and lead a quest to tell Tigerclan about Sunpaw. That was the only hope he came close to having of maybe going home.
"Hey Sunjewel!" A pure white she-cat walked through the curtain and into Sunpaw's living area, "You wouldn't believe what I found on the lower ledge of the castle cave!"
Sunpaw perked up his ears at his, so far, only friend within the kingdoms. "BlossomTooth! Do you think you would ever learn to pull the string before you just walked into my den?"
The she-cat shrugged, "Why should I? You know I'm the only one who ever comes to visit you." She said with a wink, while Sunpaw rolled his eyes. "Well, Sun are you coming?"
"You know if I leave without telling anyone exactly where I'm going I'lll be in deep... well you know!"
The she-cat seemed unconcerned, "We can tell my older sister. She is a knight after all, she was even trained with the great known assassin knight Killer!" Sunpaw sighed and walked forward relentlessly. "About time, I'll race you there!" Blossomtooth ran forward and knocked over some brooms right infront of Sunpaw.
"Hey!" Sunpaw laughed, "You cheater," Sunpaw jumped over them and leaped forward. His powerful legs made him fall in running step with his friend, who shoved him playfully to the side with a laugh.
"So when!? We've been back for about two moons and yet we're still just sitting here!" Blossomtooth and Sunpaw came to a halt next the cave entrance where the voice came from.
"Sir Razor Heart, we need to set this up right. If we mess up by one step with the North Kingdom we could ruin the whole plan. Patience come with these strategies."
Razor growled, "My lord, we're running out of time though. If we don't get him ready within the next month the she-cat hair ball will be announced as the heir of the kingdom!"
A shriek sounded in a much deeper voice, "Do you dare to defy my logic! When I say the time is right then we will have that clan tom go, understood?"
"Y-yes my lord. I won't bother you with this again," With that cat footsteps sounded toward to them. The two friends quickly walked into the cave behind them without checking to see if anyone was there. FangBlood, king of the West, stormed out of Razorheart's den and down the hall way to the main entrance courtiers.
A tug came from Sunpaw's tail and then something pounced onto his back, "Mommy, mommy looking! Visitors!" Two kittens started to run around the two friends' paws.
"KelpEyes, HeatherEyes! You know better than to go pouncing on guests," The calico she-cat huddled her kits close to her, "I'm so sorry about that young ones. These two get a bit anxious at you teenagers."
"It's no problem JayEyes, we shouldn't have barged in like we did. We are terribly sorry ma'am."
Jay gave a chuckle, " It's no problem dears. Now run along you two; I assume you would have some, teenage, business to attend to. Do feel free to come back though any time." Sunpaw and Blossomtooth slowly walked out and padded down the hall. And up a ramp to the second level; where the barracks for the knights were. They walked to a cave entrance that had a bambo push door. They pushed the door up and walked into the den.
"Black? Are you in here?"
"Oh Blossom!" a Pure white she-cat walked off her bed, "What are you here for. Oh, and Sun's here too. Hello dear."
Blossom rolled her eyes, "I wanna show Sun that place I told you about, but we needed to tell someone where we would be going. Could you cover for us?"
BlackTooth nodded, "Anything for my li'l sister. Go ahead if anyone is asked I'll say you went with Blossom to go play outside and get fresh air."
"Thanks sis!" The two teen cats then bounded through the entrance. They twisted around the cave to the back part of it. Blossom started to roll down the back hill and Sunpaw followed behind. At the bottom Blossom nudge Sunpaw, "This way, idiot."
Sunpaw rolled his eyes and silently followed his friend through a weird bramble area. Almost like a barrier that was put up long ago. "Whoa what is this place?" There was a ledge at the far end and what seemed to be pictures on the wall. He walked himself over to ledge. There was a swirling picture around a heart, "Twist heart...." Sunpaw gasped, "Blossom you brought me to-"
"The very place where the prince and his friends would hang out. Where Killer was first found before being adopted by the Heart family. It's been closed off ever since Killer had left," Sunpaw looked at the four pictures on the ledge wall. A triangle like shape.... no a heart. A line down the side that went through a heart; Razorheart. Another had what looked like a fresh wound mark with blood coming down. The prince himself, Newblood. And finally a picture of a bird. It wasn't dead though just a bird...
"Blossom what was Killer's real name?"
Blossomtooth tilted her head... "I don't know, wait! That's right my sister talked about him so much when I was little. His name was Bird, BirdKiller of the Heart family. The most skilled knight to have ever lived within the kingdoms." There was a rustle from the barrier and the two teens jumped as a figure of a cat came through as a shadow.
Cloudmask a white teen tom with a black mask around his eyes reared up on his hind legs, Oh yeah you can't stop this attack!"
Moonheart a black teen she-cat laughed at her brother, "Course I can." She pawed him in the stomach and ran.
"Oh yeah?"He ran after her when he got close he jumped on her back. "Take this!"
She rolled out of the way, but Cloudmask had a good grip. They rolled into the cave and barreled right into Sunpaw.
Blossom growled at the two cats, and pinned down Cloudmask with barred teeth. The black tom just starred at Cloudmask with wide eyes; he didn't do well with much anymore. Especially getting caught being somewhere off limits. "What are you doing here!" the pure white she-cat said while pinning down the tom and giving a warning glare at the other she-cat.
"Blossom give them a break. T-they didn't mean to,"
She gave a growl, "If they tell anyone that we're here we'll get punished severely and you know it!"
Cloudmask gave a smirk, "Oh really... We won't tell anyone will we Moonheart. If you do as we say.....
Moonheart pushed her brother, "Shut up! If you hadn't noticed we're out numbered.." She rolled her eyes. "We don't need cats to hate us. Besides maybe they could help us...you know how hard it's been since mother died." The white she-cat llooked back at the other cats, "I'm sorry my brother can be....stupid at times."
"I can see that for myself, thanks!" Blossom kept her teeth barred.
"Blossom Tooth, enough!" Sunpaw watched as Blossom took a step back. He then turned to Cloudmask, "And you... don't you dare threaten my friend and me again. Is that clear?" His black tail twitched wildly with anger. Blossom got herself off from pinning down the tom and glared at him with untrustful eyes, "There is no reason for us the start fighting like some uncivilized beings. Now stop being mouse-brain idiots and just apologize to each other."
His friend turned her head away stubbornly, "Not until they do." Cloudmask looked at his paws.
Moonheart pushed him, "Well...Just say it!"
"I'm sorry..."
Sunpaw looked at Blossomtooth. She rolled her eyes and finally gave in, "I'm sorry too."
"Good, now that's all settled. My name's Sunp- Jewel, and this is BlossomTooth,' The black furred tom twitched his one white ear, "What are your names?"
Cloudmask looked at his paws again, "I'm Moonheart....and this is my little brother Cloudmask nice to meet you Sunjewel....do you live around here..?"
"We live in the castle. Blossom is Blacktooth's younger sister. And I came from the far away clan in the east, but I live here now."
Blossom looked in surprise not seeming to have payed attention to anything Sunpaw had just said, "You said you are siblings... but you have two different family names. Are you half siblings?"
"Family names...?" Moonheart said with a tilt of her head.
Cloudmask looked at his sister then at Blossomtooth," Our mother choose our names... We are not half brother and sister..."
"You aren't from the kingdoms originally... are you?" Sunpaw said with comfort and curiosity.
"No...We've lived on our own ever since mother died" He shared a glance with his sister, but they stayed silent
"You could come live with us," Blossom offered.
"Make them live in the kingdom? Do you realize just how bad that would be!"
"Well, can you think of anywhere else they could stay?" Blossomtooth retorted back.
Sunpaw thought deeply, "They could stay here. No one ever comes here normally. And if they got caught... they could go to the Resistance. We can come here every day after knight training. Just like the prince and his friends would do..."
"We could train them," the she-cat offered as the two smiled at the siblings.
"Knight training..?Resistance..?What's that all about..?" the black she-cat questioned with a tilt of her head
"We've been doing just fine on our own thank you," Cloudmask turned to leave but when he looked at his sister, she was still waiting for the answer to her questions.
The black but white eared tom stepped forward and then sat down curling his tail around his paws, "Knight training is where you are taught the ways of being a knight for your kingdom. You are taught how to hunt with great skill, how to fight, and protect yourself."
"And the Resistance... well, you see the Kingdom of the West, or the Blood Dynasty, has been known for wanting to take over being the main kingdom. And the Resistance knows that all the kingdoms in their own way want to be the highest kingdom. Not all though will do anything to become it. The Resistance is to keep each kingdom in balance and for the past few years has been holding back the West Kingdom against its own knowledge," Blossom said giving a twenty minute explanation for a quick answer.
"In simpler words the Resistance protects everyone within all of the kingdoms."
"Oh wow!"
"Come on lets go..." her brother urged.
"But I want to hear more..." Cloudmask whispered something in her ears. "Right," She looked at her paws. "We have to go..um....Can you maybe tell us more tomorrow...."
The white pelt she-cat nodded, "Of course."
"Are you sure you don't want to stay here in this cave? Again no one normally comes here."
Moonheart smiled at him, "Well be fine....we have a nice home to get back to." Her brother glanced at her.
"If you say so, but your always welcome here," and with that Sunpaw watched as his new friends left. He turned to his friend, "Blossom, do you really think they have a nice home?"
"I truly don't know Sun."
As soon as they got far enough away from the others Moonheart skidded infront of him, "What was that for!?"
Cloudmask looked back, "You remember what mom said That the kingdom cats will kill us if they knew about us."
"That was along time ago....maybe they've changed..." Cloudmask stared at his sister then shook his head. "They seemed nice.....I think we should check out that Knight training"
"No!" Her brother growled pushing his way through his sister.
Moonheart puffed out her fur and slowly followed her brother, "You can't tell me what to do."
"I intend to stay as far away from those kingdoms as possible," He looked up and ran over to a twoleg and meowed.
"Oh Hi badger I got some food for you right here," The 2 leg smiled and placed it down.
Cloudmask purred and looked over toward his sister, "Aren't you gonna eat?"
"It's demeaning taking food from twolegs we don't even know," She turned around. "I would like to learn how to hunt and not have to rely on twolegs I'm gonna find them tomorrow and ask them if they'll teach me and you can't stop me!Goodbye BADGER."
Her brother growled, "Don't call me that!"
"The twoleg did! You're no better then a Kittypet! You take food from them!" Her brother hissed, but she just continued on, "If you want you can come with me and find them tomorrow!" And with that she turned and left her brother.
Meanwhile Sunpaw and Blossom looked out the back of the castle. Stars had begun to form in the sky and the black furred tom decided to teach Blossom about Starclan, "You see that group of stars right there."
Blossom looked up to Star pelt, "Yeah what about it?"
"Each warrior ever to have lived and died with honor lives up there. They guide our path and watch over us. And each star represent one."
"What about the cats that haven't shown honor. Who have proven to be ruthless..."
Sunpaw tilted his head with curiousity, "They go the place of no stars. There's so many stories the elders use to tell us as kits about those no star cats. And the great battles that have taken place."
"Tell me one about your clan."
"I'm no good at story telling... I'll save the best ones for when I bring you to my clan. The elders can tell you those. You'd come with me right?"
"If it meant getting out of this dump. Of course I would,' She purred before realizing how dark it got. "Oh great Heavens! We better get back, or we'll have a lot of explaining to do." Sunpaw nodded in agreement and the two friends dashed back into the castle and went their separate way into their sleeping courtiers.
Sunpaw layed down on his feather pillow bed and rested his head on his paws, "I sure hope to go home soon..."
